Sony’s Kenichiro Yoshida has confirmed that the company is working on the next-generation PlayStation console.
During E3 2018 Microsoft confirmed that they were working on the next generation Xbox titled Project Scarlett, now Sony has fessed up and has also revealed that they too are working on their next generation console.
Yoshida-san, speaking with the Financial Times, didn’t go into great detail about what’s in store for the company’s console division, adding “at this point, what I can say is it’s necessary to have a next-generation hardware.”
Of course, while it’s not a definite “yes, we’re making a PS5” it seems incredibly likely that companies are looking towards the future in terms of gaming. Even Bethesda has unveiled two games for the yet-to-be-announced consoles from Microsoft and Sony, so I guess it’s safe to say that we better start saving.
