Despite two pretty big releases last week, EA Sports’ FIFA 19 retains the top spot for another week running.
Second-week sales for FIFA 19 dropped by 64%, which isn’t as bad as last year, but it’s still pretty above average for second-week sales. In second place this week was the first big release, Assassin’s Creed Origins which, much like many of the other titles in the UK Gaming Charts over the past few weeks, has seen a drop in week-one sales year-on-year.
With week-one sales down by almost 26%, we could once again suggest that the rise of digital sales is a factor, however, Assassin’s Creed Origins launched almost a month earlier than usual, meaning the run up to Christmas is drawn out a little more.
In third place is Forza Horizon 4, another big release last week, which sees sales being a little higher than usual, which is odd considering the game is also available on Microsoft’s Game Pass which costs £7.99 a month.
That being said, Forza Horizon 4 is the fastest-selling game in the series so far here in the UK.
This pushes Spider-Man down to fourth place, followed by Super Mario Party which debuts in Fifth. Fist of the North Star: Lost Paradise is another new entry in twenty-first place, followed by Astro Bot Rescue in twenty-second.
