Margot Robbie has taken to Instagram to unveil the official title for the upcoming Birds of Prey movie, and it’s quite a mouthful: Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn). Good luck getting that out in one go when you’re buying your tickets!
Twitter has already had a field day with the post, with many believing that Robbie had merely vandalized her script in character, prompting Warner Bros. to tweet the full title in all its glory themselves.
This reveal follows a series of casting announcements for the feature, bolstering the character roster to include Huntress, Black Canary, and Black Mask. Here though, the title gives more of an indication towards the film’s plot, hinting at Harley Quinn’s liberation from her and the Joker’s toxic relationship as seen in Suicide Squad; even more than the mere absence of Jared Leto from the cast.
For now though, I reckon almost everyone will still be referring to the film as the Birds of Prey movie leading up to its release on February 7, 2020, to save themselves some breath if nothing else.
