Hellboy reboot news has been rather thin and far between, but following the reveal of the first poster, we’ve not got our first look at the film itself.
Empire Magazine has given us our first look at an image still taken from the new Hellboy reboot. It appears as though new Hellboy resident David Harbour is either running towards where the action is or maybe fleeing for his life in the new image.
Director Neil Marshall has said that the new reboot will be grittier and bloodier than previous entries, stating:
‘It was always a case of, when in doubt, go back to the source material. Some of the stuff is pretty sick’. More violent and more bloody. We weren’t making it with handcuffs on.’
As a fan of the previous films, it’s a shame not being able to see Ron Perlman and Guillermo Del Toro come back together and deliver their final film for the trilogy that they had envisioned after passionate fans, and of course the actors themselves, have voiced multiple times to get the last film off the ground.
Although saying that, seeing these new images of David Harbour with this darker, grittier look along with some awesome posters released has really caught my interest as they seem to have stuck to the crazy, more obscure characters and satisfying monster SFX make-up.
The Hellboy Reboot will be released in cinemas April 12, 2019. I’m ready to take my next venture into a new reboot with Big Red, it sure looks like it’ll be one hell of a ride! Share the excitement? Let us know in the comments below!
