Netflix has been host to a lot of great new animated content as of late. It seems that this trend will continue, with Netflix hoping to target a wide variety of tastes and audiences with their upcoming film and series projects.
The upcoming movies are The Willoughbys and My Father’s Dragon, which are both based on books and boast impressive creative teams that have worked on films such as The Secret of Kells (2009) and Up (2009).
As for the series, we can look forward to the nine-episode series Maya and the Three and Kid Cosmic by Craig McCracken, creator of The Powerpuff Girls. Maya and the Three has a high-fantasy feel with a sense of humor, and Kid Cosmic follows a boy who has dreamed of being a superhero for some time–but when he finds himself transformed into one, his powers give him more trouble than expected.
The last two series are Trash Truck and Go! Go! Cory Carson, which is aimed at preschoolers and will undoubtedly bolster toy automobile sales.
Go! Go! Cory Carson will be the first to debut sometime next year, in 2019. The Willoughbys, Kid Cosmic, and Trash Truck will all be debuting sometime in 2020. Finally, Maya and the Three and My Father’s Dragon are slated for a release in 2021.
