Winner of Nintendo Game of the Year award at The Golden Joysticks 2018, and nominee for Best Score/Music at the upcoming Game Awards 2018 at, Square Enix is set to release an official remix of Octopath Traveler‘s soundtrack in 2019. Famitsu Magazine unveiled the project in their most recent issue, reporting a February 20th, 2019 release date for Japanese audiences.

The remixes were supervised by Octopath’s original composer, Yasunori Nishiki, and consist of 12 tracks, in a set of arrangements titled Break & Boost. The “Break” compositions will consist of more mellow piano arrangements (your Octopath Travel to study and relax to, if you will), while the “Boost” compositions are the more rousing, full-band fare.

The “Break” side remixes six tracks found in-game, including:

  • The Frostlands
  • Primrose, the Dancer
  • Determination
  • A Settlement in the Red Bluffs
  • Orewell, Beneath the Crags
  • Decisive Battle II

While the “Boost” side will see remixes of:

  • Battle I
  • Decisive Battle II
  • They Who Govern Reason
  • Battle At Journey’s End
  • Daughter of the Dark God
  • Octopath Traveler Main Theme

There is currently no known set Western release date, but those keen on importing the new remix can purchase it from Amazon Japan for about 3400 yen. The Square Enix Japan website has also been updated with further means of digitally purchasing the soundtrack. If and when that Western release happens, we’ll get back to you with an update!
