The highly anticipated Red Dead Redemption 2 has dominated since its release, making over $725m within its first three days of release. This makes it the highest grossing weekend for any media. Now, I know what you’re thinking “BuT GtAv MaDe $1b In ThE sAmE aMoUnT oF tImE”. True, but it was released on a Tuesday and last time I checked, Tuesday wasn’t the weekend, ergo Red Dead Redemption 2 takes the coveted title.

Sales are likely to keep expanding as the beta for online play is speculated to release fairly soon, much like what happened with GTAV. If Red Dead Redemption 2 follows the same formula as the aforementioned, then we could be seeing the online gameplay as early as November 9. The online features of the game are not yet known to the public, but with the track record that Rockstar have, it is unlikely to disappoint.

Unfortunately, Red Dead Redemption 2 didn’t take away gold in every category. It was, unfortunately, out-sold in physical copies by a franchise that milks the brain dead for money every year; FIFA 19. This is the one title that Rockstar were unable to claim, though Sony says that it was the most pre-ordered game on the PlayStation Network and boasts the highest day one sales on the platform as well as three-day sales.

With these figures currently as they stand, it makes sense for Rockstar to port John Wayne-Simulator, Red Dead Redemption 2, over to the PC. Saying this, analyst Michael Pachter of Wedbush Securities believes that a PC port could be very possible, and he even estimates it could be as early as April next year.  This was said in an interview with GamingBolt on October 30, 2018.

So it seems pretty safe to say that a game about six-shooters, assless-chaps and shriveled horse balls is a pretty big hit. With almost another $1b dollars in their back pocket already, Rockstars current recipe for cash works. I suppose the ferocity of bears is similar to Rockstar, even after waiting so long, when it rears its head from its dark cave, it is a formidable beast that will blow the competition away.
