The passing of Stan Lee has been one many fans have had a hard time dealing with. He was someone we never really thought would leave us, yet sadly here we are. Thanks to the planning from Marvel though, we can at least look forward to seeing him a few more times. Here are the confirmed and potential movies we could see him in before we really need to consider saying goodbye.
Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse. While not a true MCU addition, Spider-Man is one of Stan Lee’s greatest creations. Since it is an animated production, we might not get to see Lee himself, but we will still be able to hear his ever-cheerful, charismatic voice.
Captain Marvel is another confirmed appearance, thanks to reporting from The Wrap. Along with this, they confirmed that his appearance in Avengers 4 is a sure thing as well.
Outside of Marvel-Disney productions, if you don’t want to wait that long to hear his sultry voice you can watch him emerge from a group of Disney Princesses in Ralph Breaks the Internet which premieres this weekend. I get that it might not be the most appealing film, but it’d be nice to hear from him so soon after this loss.
While those are the only confirmed cameos, there are a few others he could likely appear in, if Marvel’s scheduling process is anything to go off of. Marvel Studios President, Kevin Feige told Variety, “I’m not going to tell you what specifically, but Stan always appreciated a good surprise.”
Lee filming his cameos in groups is no surprise. Joe Russo, co-director of Avengers: Infinity War told the BBC Radio Scotland back in April, “Stan, typically we try to get him out, he doesn’t love to fly, so we try to get him out for his cameos around the same time. So if we have other movies shooting on the same lot that we’re on, for instance, Ant-Man [And The Wasp] or Avengers 4; we group his cameos together and then move him from one set to the next and get him through his cameos in one day.”
So if we use this as hopeful hints of what could come, we could possibly see Stan the Man appear in the upcoming Spider-Man: Far From Home as well as Fox’s X-Men: Dark Phoenix films. The last one is a long shot, but it wouldn’t be Lee’s first time appearing in an X-Men film, and honestly, at this point, I’m willing to cling to whatever possible cameos of him I can.
