With less than one month to go until Super Smash Bros. Ultimate hits shelves (also known as the Smashpocalypse) and the torrent of news and new information won’t stop coming in.

First up Nintendo will be removing Smash Bros. Ultimate’s offensive depiction of Native Americans. In a statement from Nintendo, they said:

“Nintendo has been planning to distribute an update for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate that removes the feather from the silhouette of Mr. Game & Watch. The original game on which this depiction of the character is based was released more than three decades ago and does not represent our company values today,” adding that “We sincerely apologize that this change was not noticed in our marketing material and are continuing our work to make Super Smash Bros. Ultimate an experience that is both welcoming and fun for everyone.”

Following this, over on Twitter, Sakurai also confirmed that Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’s five character DLC lineup has already been finalized by the Big N:

So I may have to turn off my Twitter Bot that demands Bowsette and Waluigi…

What characters has Nintendo prescribed for us? If their recent marketing is anything to go by Fortnite, Fifa and Labo may very well end up in Smash… Who do you think we will get for DLC?

As for demo news, across the pond lucky shoppers visiting Best Buy for all their electronic goods will soon be able to play Nintendo Switch Demo Units with Super Smash Bros. Ultimate demos installed. It is unknown how much content Best Buy customers will be given access to, but like my mash potato loving wife always says “A little Smash is better than nothing.”

Finally, a song that will now be on constant rotation in my Smash Bros. Ultimate Playlist is now available to listen to on YouTube. Check out the link below to hear Street Fighter II / Guile Stage by Arrangement Supervisor Yuzo Koshiro.
