While we might not have received this game over the summer like initially expected, The Bug Butcher now has a rapidly approaching release date for the Nintendo Switch console. Get ready to kill swarms of bugs on the go, or on your couch as The Bug Butcher releases November 8!
Classified as an “action-packed 2D side-scrolling shoot’em up”, The Bug Butcher pits you against hordes of space insects that literally rain down on you from above. An incident has happened in your top secret science lab and now the facility is overrun with terrible insects. It falls on you to exterminate the threat and solidify your place of THE exterminator.
Spanned across 30 levels, players will be eradicating swarms of insects that become increasingly difficult the farther you progress. Gear can be customized, weapons can be upgraded, and friends can be brought in to help wipe out this infestation in local co-op. Leaderboards will also be available for those looking to earn the highest score around.
If you’re worried about the game’s performance, don’t be. According to 2Awesome Games, The Bug Butcher will run at a smooth 1080p resolution with a constant 60fps. The game can be played in docked, handheld, and tabletop modes with Joy-Cons or a Pro controller.
As of November 1, anyone who pre-orders will receive a 10% discount. For those that want to wait to make their purchase, the Bug Butcher will release for the Nintendo Switch on November 8, 2018. Be sure to check out the launch trailer below!
