EA has announced the official details for Anthem‘s upcoming closed and public beta tests.
As the month of February draws ever closer by the day, EA has released specific information on the release date of the Anthem playable demo through their official website. Here is what they have said to all owners of the VIP Demo:
‘Be the first to play Anthem with the VIP Demo from January 25–27, 2019. You must pre-order Anthem, be an EA Access subscriber, or be an Origin Access subscriber at the time of the VIP Demo to participate. You’ll also get an exclusive VIP Demo item to show you were one of the first to play’.
As long as you pre-order, or are an EA Subscriber/Origin Access member, then you’ll immediately be able to play the early VIP Demo of Anthem from the 25th – 27th January 2019. This demo will release a week earlier than the general public version, and you’ll also receive an exclusive in-game item.
For everyone who has not pre-ordered or is not an EA Subscriber/Origin Member then here is what BioWare has said regarding the open demo:
‘Experience Anthem ahead of launch with the Open Demo from February 1–3, 2019 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Origin for PC. Anyone may participate in the Open Demo’.
So there you have it, a much more specific guideline for all those who may have had confusion over each demo. Also if you didn’t manage to catch The Game Awards last Thursday evening then here is a new story trailer released from it for Anthem.
Over the weekend a few select players had a chance to try the Alpha version of the game to help with server testing and game-breaking bugs. Don’t expect to see anything of this test, however, as an Origin member soon faced EA’s wrath when he tried to stream footage after agreeing to an NDA with BioWare, he found his account stripped of its library of games and EA/Origin Membership revoked…..ouch!
Executive Producer, Mark Darrah, reiterated this firm stance in a simple tweet stated below:
The Alpha’s on.
And I’m seeing some chatter about connectivity issues to the servers.
1. This is one of the primary purposes of the test.
2. You are actually in violation of your NDA if you are publicly discussing issues you are having.

Anthem will release for PS4, Xbox One & PC on February 22, 2019.
