Henry Cavill isn’t hanging Superman‘s red cape just yet according to Aquaman star Jason Momoa.
Following statements from Warner Bros. themselves regarding the rumors of Cavill giving up his role as Superman, Momoa has also weighed in saying that he’s “absolutely not” giving up the role just yet.
Speaking with Entertainment Tonight, Aquaman himself said:
“I just talked to Henry… He’s absolutely not [leaving the character],” he told ET. “[Cavill] loves the character. He’s not. One hundred percent.”
Rumors began to circulate when plans for Superman to cameo in the upcoming movie, Shazam, fell through. Many began to speculate that Warner Bros. and Cavill couldn’t reach an agreement or that Cavill himself just wasn’t interested. Turns out it was just a bit of a scheduling issue with Shazam and Mission Impossible: Fallout.
So will we see another outing of the moustache-less Superman? Probably. We’ll just have to wait and see. Meanwhile, Cavill is currently filming the upcoming Netflix series based on The Witcher video games where he’ll be starring as Geralt of Rivia.
