Wargaming and Mad Head Games has revealed the first gameplay trailer for Pagan Online, their upcoming action RPG.

Set to launch on PC in 2019, Pagan Online will thrust players into a world based on pre-Christian mythology as they take on hordes of enemies and bosses – some of which can be seen in the first gamplay reveal.

In the trailer, which you can see below, we get a glimpse of Mad Head Games’ attempt at “bringing a new meaning to the ‘Action’ part of Action RPG”, with session-based combat which rewards players on skill and smarts on the battlefield. The latest press release also details character progression, which incentivizes building a “family” of characters rather than a single character.

Loot and gear will also play a key part in character development as combinations of gear, skills, and characters which, when working together, can be more powerful than what the stat sheet determines.

Mad Head has also announced that players can sign-up to take part in Pagan Online‘s pre-launch tests, also known as “Trials” that’ll be taking place over the coming months.

“With Pagan Online we’ve worked hard to deliver a fast-paced and intense combat system that’s easy to pick up but difficult to master,” said Uros Banjesevic, Co-founder and Creative Director of Mad Head Games. “We took inspiration from MOBAs to create unique characters with specific skills and specialties, and when you put them into this type of combat system you end up with a family of fighters that do different things well in different scenarios.”
