At CES 2019 Acer revealed more details on their Predator Triton line of gaming laptops, and one of them comes packed with a pretty bizarre looking hinge.
The Acer Predator Triton 900 was announced last year but details on the hardware behind the hybrid gaming laptop were kept under wraps. At CES 2019 however, Acer unveiled all including the Ezel Aero Hinge. This hinge allows the laptop to contort into several different modes, one being a more traditional laptop style, another for those who prefer to draw on screens.
Overall there are four different display modes for users to choose from to use however they so wish. It allows the laptop to go from traditional gaming laptop to graphics tablet-style device which is pretty nifty. It also folds down completely to become solely a touch-screen notebook if that’s your thing.
On the inside, the Predator Triton 900 comes with Intel’s 8th-gen Core i7 processor, 16GB RAM, and 1TB SSD storage. It also comes packed with Nvidia’s latest RTX 2080 GPU which was also announced at CES. This will power the laptop’s 17-inch 4K IPS display which also boasts Nvidia’s G-Sync tech.
Set to arrive in North America in March, the Predator Triton 900 comes with a hefty price tag of $3,999.
If you’re after something a little more realistic, the company also unveiled the more traditional-looking Predator Triton 500. This laptop comes in at $1,799 and offers a 1080p 15-inch display and includes an Nvidia RTX 2060 GPU, but can be upgraded to the 2080. It’ll also come with the same Core i7 processor, 16GB RAM, and a smaller 512GB SSD.
The Predator Triton 500 is expected to land in North America and Europe in February.
