At CES 2019, Alienware unveiled the lightweight Alienware m15 which is set to feature Nvidia’s latest RTX GPUs and be the first gaming laptop with a 240Hz screen.
Now, that might sound familiar, and you’re not wrong. At the same event, HP revealed their HP Omen 15 which the company claimed to be the first gaming laptop with a 240Hz screen. So who’s the real winner here? Well, it seems to be Alienware, as their laptop will arrive in March, as opposed to the Omen’s July release.
Aside from the impressive refresh rate, the Alienware m15 will come with a 15-inch display, an Intel Core i9 CPU, up to 32GB RAM, and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Max-Q GPU. We’re not sure right now what the screen resolution will be, but there’ll likely be both 1080p and 4K options available. Presumably, the 240Hz screen would be 1080p.
The 240Hz variant is expected to land in March. There’s currently no word on pricing, though other models are also expected to land a little sooner.
Take that, HP.
