Capcom has announced that they are porting over Dragons Dogma: Dark Arisen to the Nintendo Switch on April 23, 2019. The game will cost $29.99 through the Nintendo eShop.
If you haven’t played this game at all on either the PS3, Xbox 360, PS4, Xbox One or PC then I would seriously suggest buying this game for any lover of action, medieval fantasy RPG’s out there. Capcom also promises that there will be a revamped user interface that will improve screen visibility on the Switch, making the game’s UI readable while playing in portable mode.
Although the story may have been confusing to some and the game literally as hard as nails, no one can deny that the ideas executed behind the combat are great and the monsters that you came across were ferocious and different!
To be able to climb atop monsters backs whilst gouging their eyes out, running through a seemingly beautiful forest with your fellowship squad of the classic rogue, mage, warrior scenario only to be suddenly leaped on by a Chimera laying in wait, to holding on to a Griffin in flight while it attempts to throw you off it’s back and yelling for a fellow teammate to rain down arrows upon it or burn it’s wings down with a meteor storm, this game had some of the most inventive and up to date combat tactics I had ever seen in a long time.

You can check out our review of what we thought of Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen here. It’s a shame that no games later have picked up these innovative combat techniques and implemented them in their games such as the Elder Scrolls series, Fallout, Witcher or Dragon Age to name a few. Hopefully, we can expect to hear of a full-on sequel to this first attempt at an action, medieval fantasy RPG from Capcom in the near future.
Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen will release for the Nintendo Switch on April 23, 2019. However, it is currently available now for the PS3, Xbox 360, PS4, Xbox One & PC.
