Bethesda has quickly put to bed rumors that their latest release, Fallout 76, will be going free-to-play.
According to various social media tweets and forum posts, Fallout 76 may go free to play. While Fallout 76 didn’t have the best launch, it’s not quite at the point of going free-to-play, at least that’s according to Bethesda who, via their Twitter account, quickly put down rumors that this was going to happen.
There is no truth to this rumor.

That being said, this won’t be the first time a company has squashed free-to-play rumors only to go free-to-play later town the line. Look at Evolve, for example.
In our review, we wrote that Fallout 76 “is easily mistaken for a Creation Club attempt at Fallout 4 multiplayer. It’s a shame. There’s some genuine intrigue in the storyline and potential for a Fallout experience like no other that’s compelling. Sadly stale, repetitive gameplay and the least stable launch of the year goes a long way to tarnish that.”
