Will I ever be able to play Blitzball anywhere, anytime, on the go or at home? Well, wonder no longer as the release date has been revealed for Final Fantasy X/X-2 on Switch. We can all return to the dream-lands of Spira April 16, 2019.

Check out the official announcement below.

Most excitingly of all, for me personally, is the confirmation of the release date of Final Fantasy XII: Zodiac Age for Nintendo Switch. Two weeks after X (30 April 2019) we be able to download the highly anticipated rerelease to our Switches. Check out the official Tweet announcement below.

Final Fantasy XII came out at the end of the PlayStation 2’s life span so many Final Fantasy fans missed out on the initial release and although it was re-released on the PlayStation 4 in 2017 this will be the first time XII has hit a Nintendo console.

Why haven’t Square-Enix included the Nintendo DS exclusive sequel Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings or the rest of the games that take place in the world of Ivalice Alliance? The Ivalice Alliance included Final Fantasy Tactics, Vagrant Story, Final Fantasy XII, all their sequels, side stories, and spin-offs and would have made for a truly fantastic package spanning gameplay genres, art styles and decades of development. What makes this highly improbable to happen is that unlike the rest of The Ivalice Alliance; Vagrant Story was published by Konami while the Final Fantasy series is unmistakably published by Square-Enix.

Who knows what will come next? Could we get another oft-requested remake or a long-coveted sequel? Summer 2019 is looking like it will be full of Final Fantasy, but there’s always room on my Nintendo Switch for more classic RPG’s.
