Nintendo has revealed the most popular game on Nintendo Switch throughout 2018 and it’s both unsurprising but also unexpected… Epic Games’ Fortnite.
During 2018 the Nintendo Switch saw the likes of Pokémon: Let’s Go! Eevee/Pikachu, Super Smash Bros., Octopath Traveler, Super Mario Party, Starlink: Battle for Atlas, Mario Tennis Aces, and many, many more. However, the most played title of 2018 wasn’t any of these games.
Nintendo has revealed the most played title on the Nintendo Switch in 2018 was Fortnite. That’s right, the Battle Royale title that swept the nation was the most popular game on the Switch for the entire year. Unbelievable.
Of course, this list didn’t just account for 2018 releases it also counted past releases too such as The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Mario Kart 8, and of course, Super Mario Odyssey, yet none of those titles could quite beat the gaming phenomenon that was Fortnite.
It would have been nice for Nintendo to release play time, however, it’s highly likely that Fortnite completely outshone every other game.
