Lo’ and Behold children of the 100 man scramble which is Fortnite Battle Royale. A new development and mystery shows itself in the form of a perfectly form Ice Sphere floating above the central courtyard of Polar Peaks, and some people believe that maybe Kevin has returned.

One of the latest locations has become the focal point of the Fortnite community as another object of unknown origin has materialized in the air above the mountainous locale, not only this but there seems to be another inaccessible hatch (similar to those found originally in Wailing Woods) in the tundra.

Fortnite Battle Royale Ice Sphere

I have decided to investigate this orb of curiosity and discovered… absolute zero (YYYYYYYEAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH). You can hit it with your harvester and shoot it with any weapon available and it has no reaction. It can not be built through or around as it is placed one block higher than the available build height of the player.

I decided to test every element and jumped over to Frosty Flights to snap up a Stormwing and slam into that spherical enigma. Nothing at all. My second attempt I decided to take a new approach and bail from my airborne contraption and attempt to land on it. I slid off. How exhilarating.

I have concluded that the Ice Sphere is not the second coming of Kevin, the much loved and revered God-Cube from a time gone by. I personally believe that our new overlord ball is nothing more than Fortnite adding a little background to the week completion challenge skin which becomes available after completing 7 weeks of challenges as Week 7 goes live in less than 24 hours.

What do you think to our new Emperor of the Icy Skies? Let us know in the comments.
