At CES 2019 HP has announced the new Omen 15 the latest in their line of Omen gaming laptops, however, this is the first of its kind to offer a 240Hz display, says the company.
Gaming laptops are pretty nifty little devices, they’re (somewhat) small compared to a traditional tower PC while also matching them in power. One thing that gaming laptops seem to lack however is a choice of monitor often leaving you to deal with a sub-par screen with 144Hz refresh rate.
HP has solved that problem with the HP Omen 15, their latest gaming laptop which offers a 15.6″ 1080p IPS monitor that offers a refresh rate of 240Gz. Of course, with a pretty high caliber display, it has to have equally high-spec insides and that’s certainly the case.
The laptop comes packed with Nvidia’s brand new RTX 2070 Max-Q GPU, an 8th-gen Intel Core i7-8750H processor, 16GB RAM, and WiFi 6 (802.11ax wireless). As for appearance, the laptop looks pretty much unchanged from its previous model.
The Omen 15 with its standard display will arrive in February starting at $1,370. As for the 240Hz version, that’ll arrive in July. pricing is currently unknown.
