Assassins Creed is currently a bit tricky to play on your Switch at the moment. Currently, the only way to do so is through a cloud-based system which is limited to Japan only. If a few Czech retailers are to be believed though, that could all be changing in the near future.
There have been quite a few rumors over the past few months that suggest some form of the earlier Assassins Creed titles are coming to the Nintendo Switch. More specifically, rumors surrounding Assassins Creed 3 and it’s Liberation “sequel” point to a combination of the two dropping for Nintendo’s console/handheld hybrid in the very near future.
While the original “leak” comes from a German retailer, more recently multiple Czech retailer sites have listed the alleged Assassins Creed remaster specifically for the Switch console. While Assassin’s Creed 3 did drop on the Wii U back in 2012, the biggest hint that this could potentially be true is the addition of box art within the listing itself. Take a look…
Presently, the listing states that this remaster could come out as early as February 15, but that feels like a placeholder considering there hasn’t even been any official announcement yet and February 15 is mere weeks away. That being said, season pass holders for Assassins Creed Odyssey will be receiving a remaster of the very two same games at some point, according to a Ubisoft support page.
So, we have a title(s) that’s been on a Nintendo platform before. We have the very same games already having received remasters so they can be brought to the Xbox One and PS4, and we have multiple retailers posting similar information regarding this alleged release.
While we might not see it come to the Switch on February 15, and all rumors should be taken with a grain of salt, it seems very plausible that we could soon be reliving the Revolutionary War with one of our favorite Assassins, on one of Nintendo’s best consoles. With any juicy rumor, only time will tell.
