Get prepared to be constantly checking over your shoulder for eclectic Russian killers, as BBC America has announced that April 7 sees the release of Killing Eve season two.
Stars Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer will both return as brilliant detective Eve Polanski and ingenious assassin Villanelle respectively, reigniting the electric chemistry we were treated to this time last year.
Phoebe Waller-Bridge will also be back at the writer’s helm for season two, continuing to adapt Luke Jennings’ stories for the small screen, beginning with the small matter of the insane cliffhanger viewers were left with at the culmination of the most recent episode.
Killing Eve‘s debut season was met with massive critical and public acclaim, earning a Golden Globe nomination for Best Drama Series and an Emmy nod for Waller-Bridge for Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series. Oh herself received recognition at both awards ceremonies in the form of nominations in the ‘lead actress in a television drama series’ category at each event.
It will be fascinating to see how the series further explores these two women’s obsession with each other; don’t be surprised to see appearances at award shows this year too.
Get your postcards at the ready, Villanelle’s next mission will be here before you know it!
