One of the more overlooked announcements from CES 2019 was Mad Catz announcing a ton of new products at the event including a new line of S.T.R.I.K.E. gaming keyboards.
Following its comeback in January 2018, Mad Catz remained pretty quiet keeping its cards close to its chest. However, at CES 2019 the company announced a slew of new products from the peripheral maker.
First up, is the new line of S.T.R.I.K.E. “professional gaming keyboards” one of which is targeting the esports community. The S.T.R.I.K.E.4+ comes with Cherry mechanical switches and can withstand 50 million hits, Mad Catz says. Combine this with the company’s F.L.U.X. software, players can customize every aspect of the keyboard.
As you’d expect, this means the S.T.R.I.K.E.4+ comes with their Chameleon RGB lighting throughout and players can assign each individual key a color, if they so wish.
Next up is the more stripped-down S.T.R.I.K.E.2+ which has been designed with durability in mind. Thanks to its double-shot injection process and the fused together chassis, players who like to take their kit on the go can do so without worrying about it breaking in transit.
The S.T.R.I.K.E.2+ does, however, come with a custom designed membrane which mimics the precision of a mechanical keyboard with less noise. This, however, could be a deal breaker for some players.
Both keyboards are expected to launch in Spring. Unfortunately, there’s no word on pricing.
In addition to the S.T.R.I.K.E. keyboards, Mad Catz also announced the G.L.I.D.E. Gaming Surfaces, the G.L.I.D.E.19, 21 and 38. As you’d expect, they come in 16-inches, 19-inches, 21-inches, and 38-inches, and offer durable friction-free gaming for all players. They’re also fully washable which is definitely a plus.
“Earlier this week we were pleased to announce the shipping of our G.L.I.D.E. Gaming Surfaces, the perfect partner to out new range of R.A.T. mice. We’re delighted to grow our range of professional PC hardware yet further, with the new range of S.T.R.I.K.E. gaming keyboards,” said Selena Chang, Director of Sales and Operations for Mad Catz Global Limited.
“We remain seriously committed to the PC gaming community, aiming to deliver an entire eco-system of high quality hardware, designed to use the latest technology and engineering prowess to provide a winning edge. We look forward to shipping these products soon and to announcing further product in the year to come.”
