One of Minecraft’s latest snapshot, 19w04a, came with some “interesting bugs”. Namely a sick infinite wall run. For some, updates to this beloved game just bring trouble, for others they breathe new life into the game… either way you slice it, the bugs they bring sure can be fun.
This wall running bug, in particular, was pointed out by Reddit user NatalieZem in a 27-second video which was posted over on the /r/Minecraft subreddit, where it has since received over 150 comments.
NatalieZem gave clarification about this particular bug in the comments;
“Just for context, this isn’t a trick or a prank or anything. In the recent snapshot, you can’t jump while pressing against a block. And apparently not being able to raise your elevation also means you can’t lower it either. Try it for yourself: All you need to do is stay sprinting into the wall and you can move along it.”
While this updated snapshot may have been the introduction of the functioning stonecutter, which allows players to craft more decorative blocks with ease, it also prompted some redditors to speculate, and outright hope, that this may hint that more movement mechanics (like those from their favorite mods) may be in the works.
For now, and to a few disappointed users dismay, the bug has been fixed with the implementation of snapshot 19W04B… but will this quick turnaround be more cause for speculation? All I know is it was getting all very Mirrors Edge up in here for a moment there, and I kinda liked it.
