Daybreak Games has revealed a new release date for their upcoming battle royale spin-off, PlanetSide Arena, as well as closed beta dates.

Originally set to land on January 29, Daybreak Games has now delayed the release until March 26, 2019. Instead, a Closed Beta period will begin just after the game’s original launch date on January 30.

The reason for the delay, according to a developer letter, is so they can “supplement our feature set, fully optimize engine performance, and improve server infrastructure was absolutely necessary to deliver the quality, polished game the PlanetSide community deserves.”

The developer has shared a roadmap up until launch which includes the game’s Closed Beta which begins on January 30. This will then be followed by a Founders Season, an exclusive beta period for pre-orders that begins on February 20. Then, the debut season will begin when the game launches on March 26.

“We know the delay will be frustrating to some, but we believe this game will be truly special, and we’re willing to do whatever it takes to fulfill your – and our – lofty expectations,” the developer concluded.
