Capcom has revealed that the 1-shot demo for Resident Evil 2 has been played by 1 million players since its launch on Friday.
Resident Evil 2 remake launches later this week, and in order to drum up some hype for the game Capcom launched a limited time demo which had players escape Racoon City’s Police Station. The demo lasted 30 minutes and once its over, that was it.
Since its launch on Friday, January 11, the demo has been played by 1 million players. Of that figure, only 28% of players have successfully completed the demo. It seems the 30-minute limit is a little short.
Fortunately for PC players, they’ve managed to find a workaround and many are enjoying a limitless playthrough of the game, though it’s likely Capcom may patch this out before the demo becomes unavailable at the end of the month.
Resident Evil 2 is set to launch on January 25 for PS4, PC, and Xbox One.
