As Rocket League’s ninth competitive season draws to a close, Psyonix has started their huge spring clean as February welcomes the beginning of Season 10 and a heap of new features.

The most notable addition to date is, of course, the cross platform-party system. Players across all consoles (PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC) can now band together and/or compete against each other, regardless of their platform of choice.

Once considered a myth, cross-platform gaming has always been a touch and go subject in the gaming community, however, in the past couple of years, the concept had become a genuine possibility. Thankfully, after popular demand and hard work, Rocket League has joined an exclusive club and made the community’s dream a reality.

But wait, there’s more! Psyonix also announced a bunch of new features in their latest Roadmap for the months ahead. February will see the addition of a new crate and in-game music, as well as the usual competitive season changes and a fresh in-game event.

Looking ahead to March, we are told that there will be a brand new premium licensed DLC and the end of Rocket Pass 2, meaning that there is still time to grind for painted/certified items. This spring, players can also look forward to Rocket Pass 3 as well as the introduction of a challenge system (more news to follow).

Last of all, with the close of season nine, comes the arrival of competitive rewards and this time around its wheels (again). Players will receive the items equal to and below their competitive rank and the Grand Champions among us will receive the usual in-game titles. Additionally, those of you who reached GC in the alternate game modes will be awarded a unique variation of this accolade alongside the regular items, as seen below.

  • Rumble Grand Champion – ‘Season 9 – RNG Champ’ in-game title
  • Dropshot Grand Champion – ‘Season 9 – Floor Destroyer’ in-game title
  • Hoops Grand Champion – ‘Season 9 – Dunk Master’ in-game title
  • Snow Day Grand Champion – ‘Season 9 – Blizzard Wizard’ in-game title

More news is to be announced in the coming months, so stay tuned for further updates.
