Marvel is teasing something “fantastic” for Insomniac Games’ Spider-Man, leading us to believe that some Fantastic 4 content is on the way.
Insomniac’s Spider-Man is an excellent package which deals as effectively in fan-service as it does in action-packed set-pieces. This has been bolstered by the three-part DLC package of ‘The City that Never Sleeps’ a flawed but enjoyable side serving to the main course of the campaign released between October & December. Additionally, fans were treated to the Raimi suit late last year which, depending on your preference, was either a great or dreadful thing.
The surprises don’t seem to have ended there though, during Marvel’s Fantastic Four Week kickoff Livestream, Marvel’s Ryan Panagos indicated that “Something ‘fantastic’ is coming to Marvel’s Spider-Man real soon. I can’t tell you anything more right now… but you’ll want to keep an eye out for this. It’s going to be amazing”. This was then followed-up by the Marvel Twitter account.
Though this may seem certifiably cryptic, it is likely that fans will be offered another free suit pertaining to Marvel’s first family soon. Or, to get our hopes up, maybe some DLC which might up the Marvel Gaming Universe, it’s very unlikely but it’d definitely get our vote.
Marvel’s Spider-Man is a game which has delivered on almost every metric, in our written review we stated that “Spider-Man is easily a candidate for Game of the Year, delivering… Amazing gameplay with spectacular visuals along with fun but moving story writing. No game has captured the spirit of Spider-Man so completely”. High praise indeed, if you haven’t read our review already then you can check it out here.
