Today, Thunderful, the publisher made up of Image & Form and Zoink Games, has today announced Image & Form’s latest entry into the SteamWorld series, SteamWorld Quest: Hand of Gilgamech.
SteamWorld Quest: Hand of Gilgamech takes on a similar appearance to Slay the Spire in that battles are executed using decks of cards. It’s a roleplaying card game featuring characters from the lovable world of SteamWorld – what more do you want?
The game will feature an array of heroic steambots who are journeying through a hand-drawn world taking on intense battles all of which use a deck of punch cards to unleash attacks, defenses, and much more. There are also over 100 unique punch cards to choose from so players can build their deck to suit their own play style.
On their journey, players will also find treasure, dragons, magic, and Image & Form’s iconic humor. I mean, it’s steampunk meets medieval fantasy…
“For years, the SteamWorld community has asked us to create an RPG. In fact, on multiple occasions we’ve asked our followers what they’d like us to make next, and so far an RPG has been the number one request. So we took it upon ourselves to create a new kind of game, to surprise and delight both fans of the genre as well as existing SteamWorld fans,” wrote Image & Form in a press release.
Further details on SteamWorld Quest: Hand of Gilgamech are to be unveiled in the coming months including release date, story, gameplay details, pricing, and more. For now, however, all we know is that it’s coming to Nintendo Switch and it looks awesome.
