Kalypso Media has announced that El Presidente isn’t quite ready for Winter and have pushed back the release of Tropico 6 back once more.
Back in August 2018, Kalypso Media announced that Tropico 6 would be launching in January 2019 in an attempt to make the game the biggest game yet. Now with January upon us, Kalypso has a little more sad news, we’re going to have to wait until March.
“After going through rigorous in-house testing and taking on board all the feedback collected from the closed beta and the wider Tropico community, Tropico 6 is shaping up to be a great game. However, great is not enough when it comes to El Presidente,” Kalypso said in a press release.
“As always, Kalypso is striving to deliver an outstanding gameplay experience to make Tropico 6 the best in the series to date, and as such has taken the difficult decision to move the release of the PC, MAC and Linux versions to 29th March,” they continued.
Kalypso Media’s owner Simon Hellwig has also accompanied this announcement with an open letter which can be found here.
As a result of the delays and as a thank you for players’ patience, Kalypso is set to release the first major Tropico 6 DLC free of charge to anyone who has pre-ordered the game up until 6PM on January 10, (that’s today). The DLC is expected to release in Q2 2019 and will be automatically added to players’ games.
Tropico 6 will now launch on March 29, 2019.
