Bandai Namco’s latest entry into the Ace Combat series, Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown has had its biggest UK launch, however, it wasn’t big enough to topple Mario from the top spot.
Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown is the first main entry into the series since 2014’s Ace Combat Infinity and has scored itself the biggest launch in the franchise’s history in the UK since it first debuted in 1995.
In terms of sales, the game performed best on PS4 with 76 percent of sales on that platform, though this was likely due to the game’s PS VR mode – which I hear is pretty damn good.
This puts Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown in second place as New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe remains in the top spot with only a 43 percent drop in sales.
As for the rest of the charts, it’s pretty much the same as previous weeks with FIFA 19 in fourth place as Red Dead Redemption 2 climbs back up to third. Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 remains in fourth place.
Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition falls from ninth place to thirty-second with a 71 percent fall in sales.
Next week will be interesting as we see the launch of Resident Evil 2. Following that, we have Kingdom Hearts 3 ahead of a month where we see not one but five big releases (Trials Rising, Metro: Exodus, Crackdown 3, Far Cry New Dawn, and Jump Force).
