The UK Gaming Charts have arrived and unsurprisingly Resident Evil 2, the remake of the 1998 game of the same name, has once again scored number one.
In addition, the launch of Resident Evil 2 is actually the biggest UK launch for Capcom since January 2017 when Resident Evil 7 launched. While Resident Evil 2 didn’t manage to beat sales of RE7, it’s still a pretty impressive achievement.
As always, the UK gaming charts currently only count physical sales, so it’d be interesting to see how the game performed with both physical and digital sales combined.
This news, of course, means New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe falls just short of a hat trick, falling down to fourth place. This is followed by Ace Combat 7, last week’s number 2 title, which falls to sixth place.
Overall though, it’s another quiet week in the UK Gaming Charts. Though Kingdom Hearts 3 launches this week and will be followed by a very hefty release schedule in February, so things are soon going to heat up.
