The TV spin-off of Taika Waititi‘s critically acclaimed mockumentary What We Do In The Shadows has been revealed do be dropping at some point this March.
Both Waititi and his feature co-star Jemaine Clement are writing and executive-producing the new show (with Waititi also directing the pilot), which stars Matt Berry, Kayvan Novak, Natasia Demetriou and Harvey Guillen.
This initial series is good news for the other WWDITS projects reportedly in the works, which include a full sequel following the feisty pack of werewolves (not swearwolves) seen in the original, as well as a procedural spoof within the New Zealand police force as they deal with the supernatural goings on in the area.
If you haven’t checked out the original (which is half a decade old now, how crazy is that?), I would highly recommend it. Not only will it give you an insight to the tone of this new series, but you will also see the debut of one of the most important people working in the industry today. .
For UK readers, there is no news yet regarding when the show will run on BBC 2, but for you lucky folks across the pond, you have a two month wait until What We Do In the Shadows debuts on FX, running for ten episodes.
