Activision and Treyarch have announced the next season of content coming to Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 which arrives first on PlayStation 4 today.
This new season will bring with it a whole host of new content including new multiplayer maps, new specialists, new skins, and of course new locations in the battle royale mode, Black Out.
In terms of specialists, Outrider is the latest addition to the game equipped with a silent but deadly compound bow also known as “Sparrow” and equipment called “Hawk”, “a pilotable drone that can be parked at strategic overwatch positions and will automatically tag enemies in its view to help you find and eliminate your prey,” Treyarch has revealed.
Outrider will be unlocked in both Multiplayer and Blackout once players hit Tier 1 of the Operation in Black Market.
Party Games are also making a return to Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 starting with One in the Chamber a game mode first introduced in Black Ops 1 which gives players three lives and a single bullet. Elsewhere, new maps will be coming for Black Ops Pass Holders. These new maps are Lockup and Casino.
Black Ops Pass holders will also be able to dive into multiplayer and Blackout with a brand new character, one many players may have seen before, the Cosmic Silverback from Dead Ops Arcade.
Finally, the game’s multiplayer mode is set to see a big balance and tuning update of all the weapons and equipment, as well as the addition of three new weapons, The Switchblade X9, Rampage shotgun, and The Cha-Ching!
As for Blackout, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4‘s battle royale mode is set to see some big changes coming to the map in the form of a brand new location called Ghost Town inspired by classic Black Ops maps. First, above ground, there’s Outlaw, a western-themed reimagining of Standoff.
Below that is Buried, an underground zombies-themed location full of loot that’s absolutely worth the risk… If you can survive the zombie onslaught.
If that wasn’t enough, Blackout is set to see a new mode launching on Friday, February 22 called Hot Pursuit, a brand new respawn mode for blackout which features three new vehicles including the SUV, Muscle Car, and PBR. This mode will have players playing cops and robbers as those diving into the Muscle Car will be able to head out and raid Supply Stashes and Drops, or lay down the law in one of the police vehicles, equipped with Sensor Darts and the ability to detect occupied Muscle Cars.
Treyarch has also added that Blackout players who have reached Echelon 80 will be able to take advantage of the Blackout Prestige System giving players the chance to Prestige up to 10 times to unlock icons, Calling Cards, Victory Coins, and more.
The developer is also teasing that more changes and updates are coming to Call of Duty: Black Ops 4‘s Blackout throughout Operation Grand Heist including a Hardcore Mode, a “top secret” in-game event, and much more.
“Additional weapons are coming to Blackout later in the Operation as well, including the KAP 45 full-auto pistol, Switchblade X9 SMG, Rampage auto-shotgun, and Outrider’s Sparrow,” the developer wrote in a blog post.
