During the previously delayed Kombat Kast on Tuesday evening, NetherRealm Studios announced Kabal and D’Vorah will be returning to Mortal Kombat 11.

That’s right, an old Mortal Kombat 3D era combatant coming back into the mix with the dual hook-sword member of the Black Dragon clan, Kabal. If that wasn’t all, we had further confirmation during the ‘Inside Xbox’ show, MKX Kytinn warrior, D’Vorah will be coming to Mortal Kombat 11.

Although Kabal wasn’t playable in MKX, NetherRealm is rectifying those past mistakes by including him in the roster this time around. He announced via a reveal trailer and received detailed walkthrough of his moves, special abilities, super move, and fatality.

I have to admit, NetherRealm has done a very good job on the design of Kabal by keeping his classic look but modernizing it enough to stand up to today, plus his combos are as brutal as ever when those hook-swords come into play.

As for the ‘Inside Xbox‘ showcase, we of course had news of the venomous bug woman D’Vorah joining the roster once again. No gameplay or other information was shown apart from the image below.

This shouldn’t come as much of a surprise due to the fact that in MKX she was very much a part of the main story serving under Kotal Kahn and she also managed to kill fan favorites Baraka and Mileena in the process… much to many fans displeasure.

D'Vorah Character Art

Reactions to the announcement of D’Vorah were mixed, with many saying she was a wasted character slot. A lot of fans were hoping that since we’re now in the reboot timeframe of the original 3D era, that we would be seeing more of those fan favorites return such as Rain, Sindel, Havik, and Jade to name a few… Unfortunately, Shaggy from Scooby Doo won’t be one of those.

Though there is still time for these characters to be revealed and there will surely be more on the way during the lead up to release. Don’t lose hope just yet! Tell us what you think of these characters being revealed in the comments below!

Mortal Kombat 11 is scheduled to release on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch & PC on April 23, 2019.
