Since 2001, the Northeast Toy & Collectibles Show has been running in North Haven, Connecticut, to the delight of its many exhibitors and attendees. This year, the show will be set up on March 31 in the North Haven Best Western Plus.
The Northeast Toy & Collectibles Show specializes in retro goods, though judging from pictures on the show’s Facebook page, it isn’t too unusual to see more recent or custom items. Anything from LEGOs, to Barbies, to vintage Marvel and DC goods and more are common at the show, with a special emphasis on GI Joe memorabilia.
The show actually began as the Connecticut GI Joe Show and over time came to encompass other retro toys and collectibles. Even now, the GI Joe cosplay group The Finest regularly makes an appearance and sets up a booth for photo ops and fundraising efforts for groups like K9s for Warriors.
The event has also grown in size from previous years. This year sixty dealer spaces were offered, an increase from last spring’s forty. There are still some spaces available for interested dealers, and information on how to secure a spot can be found on the show’s Facebook page. Although the spring show will not be featuring specific seminars and guests, show founder and runner John Kozin says that he is already planning some things of that nature for the October Toy & Collectible Show.
This year, the Northeast Toy & Collectibles Show will be running from 9 AM to 2 PM. Early bird tickets admission tickets will get you in for that entire time at $10 apiece, general admission tickets get you in from 10 AM to 2 PM at $5 each. Children under 12 get in for free.
