Daybreak Games’ upcoming battle royale spin-off, PlanetSide Arena, has suffered another delay, this time up until Summer.

Following a brief delay earlier this year, PlanetSide Arena‘s PC release has now been pushed back alongside its PlayStation 4 version this Summer. The reason for the delay is unclear, though it could have something to do with Apex Legends currently hogging the spotlight.

“After much consideration, we’ve decided to postpone the current PC-only release date and launch simultaneously across PC and PlayStation 4 this summer,” The PlanetSide Arena team wrote in a Steam update.

“We’ve always envisioned PlanetSide Arena as a way for players to experience the epic gameplay of the PlanetSide universe, through fast-paced, combined arms combat and massive-scale multiplayer modes. We believe that delivering the most polished version of PlanetSide Arena that meets these expectations, on both platforms, outweighs any other consideration.”

With the previous delay came the announcement of the Founders Season pass, which Daybreak have revealed are now canceling and refunding all pre-orders on Steam. A beta, which was planned ahead of summer is still planned.
