GameStop Germany may have accidentally let slip that Spyro Reignited Trilogy will be coming to Nintendo Switch, and pretty soon too.
The retailer recently listed the Nintendo Switch version of the Spyro Reignited Trilogy on their website as well as adding a pretty solid release date for the cute purple dragon. With the big Switch Nintendo Direct coming later today, it’s likely that Spyro Reignited Trilogy will be a part of today’s announcements.
This isn’t the first time Spyro has been rumored for Switch. Back around mid-summer last year, a listing for Spyro Reignited Trilogy on the Nintendo Switch had appeared on the Amazon Mexico website. That Amazon leak was then soon followed by a further leak from the official Nintendo UK Store who also had the Trilogy under the title “Spyro The Dragon Remastered”, fuelling fan speculation.
This listing was initially leaked via a now-deleted ResetEra thread by a user who has been correct on numerous occasions in the past about upcoming games and news stories. This of course adds more weight to the leak, as well as the fact that it’s coming from a bigger outlet like GameStop.
That being said, I’d take this info with a pinch of salt, at least until Nintendo or Activision confirms the news. I expect they’ll let Nintendo do the honor of showing over on their Nintendo Direct, hell they didn’t even let us know about all the awesome cheat codes we could have been using all this time!
Are you looking forward to a potential Spyro Reignited Trilogy finally coming to the Nintendo Switch? Or are you more of a Crash Bandicoot fan? I’m sure friendships will be tested, as here in the office, all of us have had many a friendly debate on the subject.
Spyro Reignited Trilogy is out now for PS4 and Xbox One.
