During this week’s Nintendo Direct, the company announced that Super Mario Maker 2 will be coming to the Nintendo Switch this June.
Super Mario Maker 2, as you might expect, is a sequel to the Wii U custom Mario level creation game, Super Mario Maker. This sequel will improve on the original by introducing new visual styles, such as one based on Super Mario 3D World, as well as the new Lucky Bell powerup.
There’ll also be new mechanics being introduced such as adding slopes for Mario to slide down, and plenty of enemies to bop or escape from like that blasted Angry Sun. Of course, all of the gubbins from the original title is also coming to the new release.
The game also features some new joystick controls to help players navigate between placable objects. Though presumably, we’re also going to see the Switch’s touch screen come into good use.
