As expected, this week’s UK Gaming Charts saw not one but three new titles entering the top ten, but of those three only one could claim number one, and that was Far Cry New Dawn.

For some reason, February 15 was a big day for releases this week seeing four new releases with Far Cry New Dawn, Metro Exodus, Jump Force, and Crackdown 3 all launching. Interestingly of those four, only three made it into the top ten.

Far Cry New Dawn debuted in first place, though in terms of physical sales it’s not the most impressive launch with sales down 86.5 percent compared to the launch of Far Cry 5. Though it makes sense as New Dawn is just a spin-off of 5.

In second place in the UK Gaming Charts was Metro Exodus, which actually did incredibly well selling almost 50 percent more than its previous title, Metro Last Light. Metro actually missed out on the top spot by just 2,000 units overall – maybe if we included digital in that too, it might have pushed it over the top.

Bandai Namco’s Jump Force debuted in fourth place, which is pretty good going for a debut fighting game. That being said, Bandai Namco has been doing pretty well with their fighters, especially those like Dragon Ball FighterZ.

Now you might be wondering how the long-awaited sequel, Crackdown 3, performed. Well, let’s just say that it didn’t quite make the top ten landing in thirteenth place overall last week. To make the news even harsher, physical sales are barely 10 percent of what Crackdown 2 achieved in 2010.

This could be attributed to digital sales and the fact that Crackdown 3 launched as part of Microsoft’s GamePass which costs £7.99 a month. Though at the same time with the game being delayed for so long, players likely wanted to wait to see whether the delay was worth it.

Red Dead Redemption 2, last week’s leader, has fallen down to third place this week, FIFA 19 falls to fifth, and Resident Evil 2 has fallen to sixth place this week.

It’ll be interesting to see how the charts change next week as there’s only one release on the cards and it’s a pretty big one – EA and Bioware’s Anthem.

  1. Far Cry New Dawn
  2. Metro Exodus
  3. Red Dead Redemption 2
  4. Jump Force

  6. Resident Evil II
  7. New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe
  8. Kingdom Hearts III
  9. Mario Kart 8: Deluxe
