Microsoft has today confirmed to Gamespot that Xbox Live Party functionality won’t be available in Crackdown 3 at launch.
With an already troubled development under its belt, it seems these woes won’t be stopping just yet despite the game launching on February 15. It seems players won’t be able to dive into Crackdown 3‘s Wrecking Zone multiplayer mode with their Xbox friends as Xbox Live Party functionality is not yet in the game.
“Players will soon be able to take full advantage of the Xbox platform’s Party features so they can experience the fully destructible environments in Crackdown 3 Wrecking Zone with friends,” a Microsoft spokesperson stated. “We are always looking for ways to improve our fans’ experience, and party functionality will be enabled with an upcoming title update along with our soon to be announced post-launch content.”
This, of course, doesn’t mean that you won’t be able to play online with other people, they’ll just be random players instead of partied friends.
I guess we’re just going to have to wait until we can play with our friends in Crackdown 3, or y’know, jump into one of the many other titles launching this week which does let us bring our friends into the game.
