Respawn Entertainment, the team behind the hit Battle Royale, Apex Legends, have banned over 355,000 cheaters in a bid to make the game a better place.

Taking to Reddit, the company made the following statement regarding their recent cheater bans “As of today we’ve banned over 355K players on PC through Easy-Anti-Cheat. The service works but the fight against cheaters is an ongoing war that we’ll need to continue to adapt to and be very vigilant about fighting. We take cheating very seriously and care deeply about the health of Apex Legends for all players.”

While Respawn wants to, understandably, keep their cards close to their chest they have announced 3 points that the team is working on to combat the cheater issue in Apex Legends.

  • We are reaching out and working directly with experts, both within and outside of EA, in this area that we can learn from.
  • Scaling up our anti-cheat team so we have more dedicated resources.
  • We are adding a report feature on PC to report cheaters in game that goes directly to Easy-Anti-Cheat.

The team also speaks about more upcoming fixes and changes, including an upcoming studio visit from AMD to help optimize the title on AMD hardware.

What do you think? Is Respawn doing enough to combat cheaters in Apex Legends? Let us know in the comments below!
