After a grand old bit of twitter teasing, Gearbox has finally graced the public with an official announcement of its over the top loot shooter, Borderlands 3.
Taking the stage at PAX East earlier today, CEO Randy Pitchford and creative director Paul Sage finally put the rumors to bed and confirmed the new installment.
Dropping what seems to be an in-engine trailer, we’re now treated to a first look at the new world we’re sure to be spending hours grinding in. The trailer drops a few little nods to previous characters in the series, as well as showing off some of the new environments and teasing a… gun with legs? Borderlands has always been pretty zany, so it’s almost certainly set to be turned up to 11 for Borderlands 3.
Oh, Claptraps back too. Can we not just have him killed or something?
While there’s not actually been a mention of platforms, it’s safe to assume the standard PC, PlayStation 4 & Xbox One, while also sitting hopefully at the station for the Nintendo Switch train to ride in. The YouTube description hints at more information being revealed on 3rd April, but that’s about all you’re getting out of Gearbox until then.
Is the draw of a “billion guns” enough to draw you to Borderlands 3? Or did the Pre-sequel put you off the series? Let us know in the comment section below!
