In a shocking turn of events, one of my predictions has actually come true! Well, sort of. Last week we reported on one of the ominous and teasy tweets via Gearbox Software and it turned out to be about an upcoming port of Bulletstorm for the Nintendo Switch!
According to the press release the Switch port is in development at Ukranian studio Dragon’s Lake, who also had a hand in the development of Alan Wake, The Division and Mass Effect. If that actually means anything in terms of porting games to the Switch remains to be seen, of course, Panic Button levels of quality would be favorable.
Slated for release this summer, Bulletstorm: Duke of Switch Edition will come packed with all the DLC, explaining Duke Nukem as a marketing vehicle in the teaser and release statement and title et cetera.
Not much original work has come from People Can Fly in the past couple of years and re-releasing Bulletstorm in 2017 had sparked hopes of a full-blown sequel, finally picking up on that nasty cliffhanger ending. Alas, nothing has surfaced since. Maybe strong sales for one more release of the game will be incentive enough. If motion control aiming is included in this latest port I’ll maybe even buy it a third time.
Can Duke Nukem get you to buy Bulletstorm again? Let us know in the comment section below!
