While Xaviant continues to remain quiet, Devolver Digital seems to be making moves towards rescuing The Culling.
We haven’t heard anything from The Culling developer Xaviant for around three months and fans of the original battle royale game are losing hope. However, there may be light at the end of the tunnel for the troubled title as Devolver Digital are sniffing around.
As reported via The Culling subreddit, Devolver Digital got in touch with Xaviant CEO Michael McMain at the start of February asking for the best way to contact him. He responded, saying that DMs on Twitter were fine.
@XaviantCEO Yoooooo, is there a good email to reach you at?

What could this mean for the future of The Culling? Well if anything comes of this conversation, Devolver Digital could offer to publish The Culling for Xaviant. While the game is already available on Steam and Xbox One, Devolver could be the driving force to actually get this game back to what it once was.
Another option is Devolver could be swooping in to acquire the IP from Xaviant. This, for many fans, would be the ideal option as Xaviant, despite admitting its faults before re-launching The Culling, have done nothing but let players down repeatedly.
Of course, this is all speculation at the moment as the above Tweet is all we have to go by and nothing could ultimately come out of these messages. Fingers crossed though, eh?
