Who doesn’t love Eevee? The cute Pokémon has been getting a lot of love as of late, scoring a starring role in Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee!, and getting increased merchandise and even custom, professionally-designed nail art as a result.
The latest symbol of love for the evolution Pokémon and its many evolution stages hit Ibusuki, Japan at the end of February: manhole covers decorated with Eevee and its eight evolutions.
According to Ibusuki’s website, this project came out of Eevee’s appointment as the Ambassador of Sports and Cultural Exchange for the city. Eevee got the role because the phrase “Eevee likes” in Japanese sounds similar to the city’s name.
At this time, there has been no word on how long the eight Eevee-themed manholes will remain installed.
