Gun Media has announced Friday the 13th: The Game is coming to Nintendo Switch as Friday the 13th: The Game Ultimate Slasher Switch Edition.
According to Variety, who heard from Gun Media directly, this new packed edition of the game will include all of the game’s free and paid DLC. The only item they won’t receive is the Kickstarter backer exclusive “Savini Jason” character or the backer exclusive clothing pack.
Of course, Friday the 13th: The Game has had a bit of a rocky time since its release back in May, 2017. This was largely due to the lawsuit between screenwriter Victor Miller and director Sean Cunningham who licensed the IP to Gun Media, which prevents Gun from developing the game any further (aside from maintenance and bug fixes).
Miller is attempting to reclaim the rights to his original characters which were used in the 1980 flick and its follow-on releases. This suit is currently ongoing.
Anyway, back to Friday the 13th: The Game Ultimate Slasher Switch Edition. This new release will land on Switch later this spring.
