Microsoft is apparently removing a number of references to Minecraft creator Notch from the game both on PC and console.
Today Microsoft-owned Mojang rolled out an update (snapshot 19w13a) to Minecraft’s PC version which removes mentions of its creator, Marcus “Notch” Persson, from the game’s splash screens. According to Twitter user decreptilab, a handful of splash screen texts have been removed from the text file:

Following this, developer of the console version of the game, 4J Studios, confirmed that a similar update was rolling out across console which makes changes to the splash screen.
A small update for Minecraft: Console Editions will be rolling out over the next few days to make some changes to splash text.

This comes as no real surprise, to be honest. Over the past few years, Notch has become a bit of a liability – so it comes as no surprise that Microsoft is attempting to distance itself from the once influential video game designer.
