Fallout fans rejoice, another reason to stop playing Fallout 76 is set to launch this year, an official Fallout pen-and-paper RPG to accompany the Fallout: Wasteland Warfare tabletop game.

Fallout: Wasteland Warfare game designer James Sheahan is developing the new pen-and-paper RPG expansion, that will let players explore the desolate wasteland of the universe in a whole new manner.

While the method of storytelling might be new, the content will be very familiar to fans of the franchise. Players will be able to delve into abandoned Vaults, explore ruined cities and facilities, and loot military bases. When it comes to encounters, there’s a host of recognisable faces and factions to interact with, from Super Mutants to the Brotherhood of Steel and beyond.

Players will also be able to “use the faction based Archetype cards to start your own hero and see them grow from adventure to adventure” as stated in Modiphius’ latest blog post.

The company is developing the RPG in two formats. The first will expand on the narrative wargame experience of Fallout: Wasteland Warfare. The second will be a more traditional tabletop RPG will follow using the company’s 2d20 System, as used in titles such as Mutant Chronicles, which is slated for a later release in 2020.
